* What is a DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit used to measure the thickness of the yarn used to make stockings and pantyhose.

The lower the number of DENIERS—8, 10, 15, 20, etc.—the finer and more sheer the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the number—40, 70, etc.—the thicker it is and the less skin shows through.
