* What is DENIER?

A DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn from which stockings and pantyhose are made.

The lower the DENIER number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose is. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is and the less skin is visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber stockings and pantyhose, in 50 and 100 den, where the skin is barely visible. They are commonly used in autumn-winter.

Stockings and pantyhose with a low DEN number are normally used for the spring-summer season. They can be worn the rest of the year, for example for ceremonies, since the fineness of the stockings makes them look more elegant.
